Meta to add “unedited” (no AI) tags for Stories. Is your Story unedited and AI-free? Now you can let everyone know.
Facebook adds new Insights roundup for each post. The stats are similar to Instagram’s, including follower vs. non-follower views.
Instagram adds powerful holiday features for creators. Users can create a collage of top 2024 moments, add new stickers and more.

Threads
Threads now has 100 million daily users. Not surprising since signups are now close to a million per day.

Threads releases new survey to improve content moderation. It asks if Threads should have posting rules similar to X.

Threads rolls out “Most viewed posts” insight. Users now get a better idea about what’s resonating with their audience.
Threads adds custom lists to help new users find accounts. Create custom feeds that only show posts from specific creators.
TikTok
TikTok testing new “Editor” option. The feature includes AI avatars, auto captions and new templates.
This TikTok creator’s success is… old pools. “The Pool Guy” won the High-Quality Creator of the Year award by making vids on restoring sludgy pools.
TikTok wants more time to avoid U.S. ban. Owner Bytedance filed for an injunction to delay TikTok sell-off deadline (currently Jan 19).
TikTok adds new resources for sellers. The new Account Health Report, Creator Policy Quiz, and in-person workshops make selling on TikTok Shop easier.

YouTube
YouTube simplifies channel pages and more. The improvements make content creation more intuitive with a more basic process and interface.
You can now add notes to other people’s YouTube videos. The most helpful notes (voted on by viewers) will show under the video anonymously.

Brainstorm new ideas with YouTube Studio’s Inspiration tab. The Inspiration tab lets you brainstorm new titles, thumbnails, outlines, and ideas with AI tools.

YouTube tests voice replies in comments. Some YouTube creators can now reply to comments with voice messages via the iOS app.
LinkedIn consolidates Live and Audio Events. Say goodbye to audio events after Dec 31. Only LinkedIn Live events from now on.
LinkedIn introduces view counts on videos. The stats add social proof and may encourage more sharing.
Is LinkedIn becoming the “business TikTok”? ~TWISM

LinkedIn tests boosting personal posts. Users can pay to promote their personal posts.
Bluesky
Bluesky hits 25M users. The platform is pulling in media groups, companies, sports teams and celebrities, in spite of stiff competition from Threads.
Bluesky lures news publishers to continue growth trajectory. The X competitor has promised not to de-prioritize content and allow self-verification.
X/Twitter
X shares tips for post-holiday marketing. Ad costs are lower and audiences are more engaged from mid-Dec to mid-Jan.

X reports record-high user activity in 2024. Users spent 24 minutes daily on the app, a 10% increase from last year.
Et cetera
Snapchat makes it easier for creators to earn money. New Spotlight videos can earn money through Snapchat’s monetization program.
Using these emojis and acronyms is no longer cool. Emojis like the 💀 and acronyms like WTF are officially lame now.
50% of US teens are chronically online. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat are most widely used platforms for 13-17 year-old kids.
